John Boynton

President

John Boynton is the President of Arterra Wines Canada. He oversees the domestic and international sales, marketing and operations of Canada’s leading wine company. 

John joined the company in 2022 from NordStar (parent company of Torstar) where he held the role of Vice Chair and President of Digital. He was previously the President and CEO of Torstar and Publisher of The Toronto Star.

John is an experienced CEO with a proven track record of helping companies transform and grow – successfully turning strategy into action. He leads his teams in a way that aligns to our purpose and values, focusing on teamwork and collaboration.

Throughout his 35-year career, John has worked in Sales, Marketing and Operations – for many different industries. He has experience in building both customer and direct-to-consumer relationships as well as in mobile, digital, data and ecommerce.

A Canadian, John has lived and worked in Canada, the US and Europe.

Wouter Vosmeer

Executive Vice President, Finance, IT, Legal & Risk

Wouter Vosmeer is the Executive Vice President of Finance, IT, Legal and Risk at Arterra Wines Canada, reporting to the President, John Boynton. 

Wouter is a growth-oriented CFO who brings over 25 years of experience in finance, with the majority in packaged goods and the beverage alcohol industry.

Originally from the Netherlands,
Wouter began his finance career with Unilever, garnering experience across many finance disciplines in progressively more senior roles before coming to Canada with Unilever in 2008. In 2010, he joined Molson Coors Canada as VP of Commercial Finance before being promoted to CFO. Wouter joined General Mills in
2018 as their Canadian CFO, where he successfully led their Canadian finance organization.

Will Meijer
Executive Vice President, Sales

Will Meijer is the Executive Vice President of Sales at Arterra Wines Canada, reporting to the President, John Boynton. He is a member of the Executive Leadership Team.
Will is responsible for leading the Canadian sales department, ensuring execution excellence and value optimization within the company and also representing Arterra Wines Canada amongst Canada’s beverage alcohol industry. He also works to identify business and brand development opportunities and builds sales and customer marketing plans to address these opportunities.

Before joining Arterra Wines Canada, Will worked at Molson Coors, where he held a variety of progressive roles since 2001.

He holds an MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University and an honours business administration from the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.

France Poirier
Executive Vice President, Supply Chain

France joins us from Mondelez, where she was responsible for the Canadian Supply Chain and Operations.

France grew up on a dairy farm in Lotbinière, Quebec.  An elite athlete, she was a member of Canada’s national volleyball team and played in the World Championship in Korea. 

Prior to her role at Mondelez, France spent 22 years at PepsiCo Food Canada.  At PepsiCo, she started off as a production supervisor and then held progressive roles in almost every area of the supply chain.  France has lived and worked in Quebec, Ontario and Alberta.

France lives in Glen Williams, Ontario with her husband Joel and her three children, Zacharie, Deborah and Timothé.  In her spare time, France loves to entertain and cook for family and friends.  She also enjoys backpacking through less developed countries.

Randy Weyersberg
Executive Vice President, Marketing

Randy is an energetic bilingual leader who brings over 30 years of experience in Marketing across multiple sectors (CPG, Lifestyle, Retail, and Entertainment), which includes highly regulated businesses. 

Since 2016, Randy has worked in the dynamic and competitive Canadian Gaming Industry as Chief Marketing Officer with Ontario Lottery and Gaming (OLG) and more recently leading iGaming Marketing at the Great Canadian Gaming Corporation.   

In this period, Randy helped lead best-in-class strategy and execution of their omni-channel digital transformation.  Further, he built out an enterprise and digital marketing focus.  These efforts contributed to OLG’s successful consumer-centric transformation and record business growth.   

Randy started his career in Food CPG and spent 15 years working at Nabisco and Mars, with extensive new product innovation, where he held progressive roles and eventually oversaw Marketing for Mars’ European specialty foods division.   

Later, he was head of Marketing at Nike Canada, which included marketing oversight of Nike’s showcase branded retail.  Further, as CMO at Bell’s The Source Electronics, he acquired retail experience on the operator side.  

Randy has a strong belief in teamwork and collaboration and a proven track record of injecting growth and sustaining that growth in his business efforts.
